FEA calculations conducted in SolidWorks on a 304 Stainless Steel rod to demonstrate deformation. As seen in the von Mises chart, as the Force is applied on Axis 1, the rod climbs past the yield strength proving that it will deform. Furthermore, it also indicates that there will be failure.
