Nespresso Coffee Machine

The goal of this project was to create a coffee machine in SolidWorks. This model was based off of a Nespresso that I own.

Some of the differences in my model and the real Nespresso are the nose, cup container, and height of the body.

  • The nose require longer time since it required surfacing to replicate the real object. However, I was on a time constraint and I was not able to complete the surfacing on time and instead turned to fillets.
  • The cup holder has a smaller radius and larger gaps between the holes. However, it serves the same purpose of collecting any remaining coffee residue that may come out of the nose once an espresso is made.
  • The height of the body is a larger to accommodate for the connecting pins mated to the top of the model and that connect into the body.

Improvement for the future

While the model resembles the actual coffee machine, it is not manufacturable at the moment. While complicated, it would require a separate CAD model for each individual component, small and large. In addition, these parts would need their own guidelines depending on if they are to be machined, injected molded, 3D printed, etc.
